I've since read the Pevear/Volokhonsky translations of Anna Karenina and War and Peace, and have their translation of The Brothers Karamazov sitting on my to-be-read shelf. I will be reading from the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation, but I have also heard great things about the translation by Anthony Briggs. Reading: War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy (Pevear and Volokhonsky translation). I was all set to write about how excited I am at the new Pevear/Volokhonsky translation of War and Peace. Crime and Punishment, translated by Richard Pevear & Larissa Volokhonsky (Everyman's Library). I think it was published in a book of several short Tolstoy novels. Yes, I've been looking for Hadji Murad too, the version translated by Pevear and Volokhonsky. My edition teeters in at 1273 pages, but some editions go up to 1500 pages.
